Sora 2 (video generation)

Overview

OpenAI's video-and-audio generation model, with synchronized dialogue and sound, multi-shot generation, and improved physical accuracy. Launched September 2025; the standalone consumer app was discontinued in April 2026, with the model continuing via the API.

The Sora 2 model remains available through the API (priced per second of video); the standalone Sora consumer app was shut down in April 2026.
