Private Astronaut Missions

Overview

End-to-end crewed missions to the ISS on SpaceX Crew Dragon — crew selection, training, mission management, and research integration — sold to individuals and, increasingly, national governments. Four missions flown (Ax-1 April 2022, Ax-2 May 2023, Ax-3 January 2024, Ax-4 June 2025) carrying 16 astronauts, including the first government astronauts from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, Poland, and Hungary in decades.

Ax-4 completed July 15, 2025; NASA ordered Ax-5 (its fifth consecutive PAM award to Axiom) for NET January 2027, with Voyager Technologies as payload-integration teammate
