Unitree opens Western commercial sales of its humanoid robots
Chinese robotics maker Unitree began commercial sales of its humanoid robot in Europe on July 22, becoming the first Chinese humanoid developer to enter Western commercial markets, with rollouts to Asian markets set for August 5 and North America for August 12. The staggered, three-region push over roughly three weeks is among the first coordinated global commercial launches by a humanoid company. The expansion comes weeks after the U.S. Department of Defense added Unitree to its Section 1260H list of Chinese military-linked companies in June, and amid concern among U.S. lawmakers that units shipped abroad remain subject to China's National Intelligence Law.
