Anduril scales back year-old Rheinmetall defense partnership
Anduril's strategic partnership with German defense giant Rheinmetall has been significantly scaled back about a year after it was announced, a setback to the US company's push to broaden work with major European contractors, Bloomberg reported. The suspended elements include jointly developing European-tailored versions of Anduril's Barracuda cruise missile and Fury combat aircraft, integrating Anduril systems into Rheinmetall's Battlesuite platform, and exploring solid-rocket-motor manufacturing for the European market. The pullback comes as Anduril scales US production at its Arsenal-1 factory in Ohio and as European governments weigh how much to rely on American defense-tech suppliers.
