BYD pulls Sealion 7 EV from China to focus on exports
BYD has quietly withdrawn its all-electric Sealion 7 SUV from the Chinese market to concentrate the model on exports, removing it from its official ordering app as dealers clear remaining stock, outlets reported July 7. Domestic buyers had increasingly favored plug-in hybrid models over the battery-electric Sealion 7, which sold only about 100 to 300 units a month in China in the first half of 2026. The move underscores BYD's export push, with overseas sales hitting a record 175,349 units in June.
