BYD launches Seal 08 flagship sedan, books 65,000 orders

BYD launched its Seal 08 mid-to-large flagship sedan in China on July 2, starting at 196,900 yuan (about $28,980) in both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid variants, with up to 905 km of all-electric range, an 800-volt architecture with flash charging standard across the lineup, and DiSus-A air suspension. Cumulative locked orders reached roughly 65,000 units in just over 30 hours, with pure-electric configurations making up more than 65% of selections. The 5.15-meter sedan is priced well below a comparable Tesla Model 3 in China.
