SAS orders up to 40 Airbus A330 widebodies in $10B deal
Scandinavian Airlines announced on June 30 what it called the largest investment in its history: a commitment for up to 40 Airbus A330-family widebodies to renew and expand its long-haul fleet, valued at more than $10 billion at list prices. The deal includes a firm order for 18 A330-900neo aircraft plus additional used A330-300s to be leased or acquired for interim capacity. SAS currently flies only about 14 long-haul jets, so the order could roughly triple its intercontinental fleet, with new-generation deliveries expected from the early 2030s.
