BYD retakes global EV crown from Tesla in Q2
BYD sold about 557,090 fully electric vehicles in the second quarter of 2026, reclaiming the global battery-electric sales lead from Tesla, which is expected to report roughly 396,000 to 406,000 deliveries for the same period. In June, BYD's new-energy vehicle wholesales rose 5.46% year over year to 403,472 units, a second straight month of annual growth, while overseas sales hit a fresh record of 175,349 units, up about 94.7% year over year and accounting for more than 43% of the month's volume.
