Boeing opens engineers' union contract talks, first in 14 years

Boeing and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA), which represents about 20,000 engineers and technical workers across Washington, Oregon, Kansas, California and Utah, began formal contract negotiations on July 1. It marks the first full contract negotiation between the two sides in nearly 14 years, covering wages, benefits and job security. The talks follow the costly 2024 machinists' strike and come as Boeing works to stabilize production.
