Boeing wins $3.62B China Southern freighter order
Boeing secured an order from China Southern Airlines valued at about $3.62 billion for seven freighters - two 777Fs and five next-generation 777-8Fs - plus options for three additional 777-8Fs, the carrier disclosed June 26. It is a notable win for Boeing in a market where mainland Chinese orders had largely dried up over the past decade amid trade tensions. The deal follows reports that China would resume large-scale Boeing purchases, and points the airline's cargo fleet toward the delayed 777X freighter line.
