WeRide and Uber to bring robotaxis to Greater Zurich
WeRide and Uber announced plans on June 17 to launch a commercial robotaxi service in the Greater Zurich region - their second European deployment after Madrid and their first in Switzerland. Pending approval from Swiss road authority FEDRO, rides will be booked through the Uber app with local operator Rydera managing day-to-day fleet operations on WeRide's autonomous-driving platform, starting later in 2026 and scaling progressively toward fully driverless service. Zurich is among the 15 cities WeRide and Uber are targeting under their global partnership.
