Oklo signs fuel-recycling alliance with Standard Nuclear

Oklo entered a memorandum of understanding with TRISO fuel maker Standard Nuclear on June 16 to collaborate on nuclear fuel recycling and advanced fuel manufacturing, in what it called its first third-party offtake pathway for recycled material. The companies will jointly evaluate specifications, commercial terms, and delivery schedules for reprocessed uranium and uranium-transuranic streams from Oklo's planned recycling facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, which could feed Standard Nuclear's TRISO fuel production. Both firms were among five selected by the U.S. Department of Energy for advanced negotiations under its Surplus Plutonium Utilization Program.
